Organic certification and chemical residues

Of late, more emphasis has been placed on the reliance of organically certified foods, meats, grains and products. With the wide use of toxic pesticides and herbicides until the early 1980's, and the continuous use of their weaker counterparts – such as the newer synthetic pyrethroids – residual levels have become a concern for farmers and consumers alike. AMAL deals on a daily basis, directly with independent farmers and landowners to help with testing, queries and any auditing requirements they may need.

AMAL also works in with certification bodies such as Australian Certified Organic (ACO) and the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) to test products for any pesticide residues. Being fully NATA accredited and specialising in this area, we are able to test to well below the Maximum Residue Levels (MRL's) set by the world health organisation to ensure your product is contaminant free.

Types of testing

  • Organochloride pesticides
  • Organophosphate pesticides
  • Heavy Metals
  • Synthetic Pyrethroids
  • Polychlorinated biphenols (PCB's)
  • Selected Herbicides and Fungicides
